Legal Career Pipeline Program
Street Law’s Legal Pipeline Programs partner law firms and corporate legal departments with nearby high school classes. Through classroom visits and a field trip to the law firm or legal department, volunteers teach lessons and lead activities designed to increase students' knowledge and interest in the law and legal careers.

THE PATENT PIPELINE PROGRAM

Dority & Uber Legal Scholars Program
Dority & Manning
The Dority & Uber Legal Scholars Program is designed to provide 1L students of all backgrounds an opportunity for unique exposure to the field of intellectual property law. The program offers insight into two key roles within the IP field: In-house counsel (Uber) and private practice (Dority). Through intentional programming that includes hands-on training, engaging lectures and discussions, and fun events, students will have the opportunity to build relationships and gain practical experience in IP.
EMPOWERment
Fish & Richardson P.C.
One of Fish & Richardson signature EMPOWER Women's Initiative programs is our group mentoring program, EMPOWERment, which is designed to foster meaningful connections across practice groups and offices. Mentoring pods, compiled of principals, associates, and technology specialists, meet monthly to discuss topics like relationship building, career planning, and stress management and to participate in pod-chosen social activities.
All groups were given guiding principles and topic suggestions to help frame their time together. Participants have reported increased feelings of connectedness and found great value in getting to know women across the firm that they might not have had a chance to spend time with otherwise.
Finnegan IP University
Finnegan
Finnegan IP University is a free virtual series that introduces students to exciting career opportunities available as Technical Specialists at a leading IP law firm based in Washington, DC. Technical Specialists are hired with specific STEM majors, are not pursuing a career in law, and are graduating with computer science, engineering, and chemistry degrees, as well as graduate students in life sciences.
Girls Who Code
Girls Who Code in Partnership with Disney and Microsoft
GWC Clubs are free extracurricular programs for 3rd-12th grade girls that teach participants about Computer Science (CS) in a fun and safe environment! GWC Clubs take place throughout the year and serve as a place (in-person and virtual!) for girls to spend time together while learning about CS and building their confidence.

A collection of resources for teaching people at all levels about patents and IP.
Many templates have been used by ADAPT members to introduce IP to high school or college students.
LEAP
Legal Education Access Pipeline (LEAP)
LEAP provides comprehensive pre-law school programming through focused workshops, LSAT prep courses, mentoring, and a moot court competition. Programming is designed to prepare participants for a successful career in law by helping them successfully apply to law school, excel as law students, and flourish in their legal communities afterward.

Legal Summer Institute
The Google Legal Summer Institute (LSI) aims to improve access to in-house careers at tech companies by expanding opportunities and removing barriers in the legal industry. LSI is a unique experience where 2L law school students are invited to spend one immersive week on Google’s campus as well as a full summer associateship with one of LSI’s partner law firms.

Sample Tech Company Summer Associate Program
Providing a Summer Associate Program for summer associates at participating law firms. Students spend two weeks of their summer position with the company's legal department. The program includes in-house legal experience, social and networking events, seminars, and mentorship.
School of Fish: STEM Careers in IP
Fish & Richardson P.C.
School of Fish: STEM Careers in IP Law: a cost-free educational scholarship program for rising juniors, rising seniors, and graduate students who are enrolled in a four-year undergraduate or graduate STEM program. School of Fish is designed to educate students about the field of intellectual property law. Sessions expose participants to the types of intellectual property, the multiple areas of IP law practice, and the various career paths of IP professionals, including attorneys, technology specialists, and patent agents. Students who complete the program receive: $1,000 scholarship; discount for LSAT or Patent Bar Exam preparation courses; reimbursement for LSAT or Patent Bar Exam fees; and personalized career advisement.
